HTC HD2 (T-Mobile) Product Overview

HTC HD2 (T-Mobile) Detail

Pulling the HTC HD2 out of its packaging has an immediate impact - the screen is big, there's no way around it. There's just a lot of display real-estate on this T Mobile phone. The contradiction here is the width of the device: The HD2 is thinner than most things that find a way into your pocket; think your chapstick or a pen. If hi-res, large, mobile and still somehow pocketable displays are your thing, there really is no need to look any further. Additionaly, The build quality of the HD2 is stellar - the device is solid metal and glass in your hand, no plastic bits to be found.

When using the phone - the hype around the 1 GHz Snapdragon processor is verified; the speed of in phone browsing is seamless, the screen is the most responsive I've used and applications such as multi-touch and pinch to zoom work quickly and without lag. Additionally with the HD2 you're getting 576MB of RAM - a huge contributing factor which is often overlooked in high speed devices and allows for multiple applications to be open at once.

The phones interface is highly usable; the HD2 is using an HTC Sense user interface on top of its Windows Mobile 6.5 Operating System. This proves to be a winning pairing providing easy preloaded access to Windows Mobile productivity tools like Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel - while still allowing easy one button access to other phone actions, like multimedia and games.

Expert Reviews of HTC HD2 (T-Mobile)

Expert Rating: 4.3
by Joni Blecher -- March 24th 2010

The HTC HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 smartphone for T-Mobile with HTC Sense is one multimedia centric device. It comes loaded with everything you need to keep you connected and entertained on a business trip and more. On board you’ll find preloaded full-length versions of Transformers and Transformers 2, a Blockbuster video rental app, Barnes & Noble e-reader, and GoGo Inflight WiFi service to name a few. Not to worry the HTC HD2’s 4.3-inch crisp, bright display is well up to the viewing experience task and the HTC Sense overlay transforms the Windows Mobile user experience. All and all, the HD2 is easily one of the hottest cell phone’s available on the market to date.

I am really pleased with my HTC HD2 that I recently acquired from LetsTalk.com. There is only one issue that I have with the phone that concerns me. When I am on the phone during a call and have to use the keypad to enter any access numbers when checking on accounts, the phone sometimes goes dark during that time in the middle of entering numbers via the keypad. I have to repeatedly shake the phone to get it to come back up and sometimes I have to end the call complete and dial it again. It does not happen all the time, but enough for me to be concerned.

I had T-Mobile for 2 months and I constantly drop calls. I didn't receive any 3G at all with this phone. I could not get on the internet and talk at the same time. I had to constantly call to get my phone serviced and they sent a new one but the camera didn't work at all. It freezes all the time. They offer me a new phone at a discounted price when I have insurance and pay to mail it there. I feel above all this is the worst phone and company that I ever had. I left my old service to be with this company because everyone that had T-Mobile suggested it, then turned around leaving them. I don't recommend this phone or company at all.

Pros: Big screen - and very reflective. Would be helpful on the road - you can shave or do make-up using it as a mirror. Good graphics to watch video preloaded on SD card Transformers - but only until its battery dies. Cons: Many and you better believe this info below: 1.Terrible battery life (unless you turn everything off) - still, you are very lucky if you make it home by evening and the phone is still on. 2. E-mailing is not for serious users - do not bother, I spent many days online, trying to find a good e-mail client which would support some essential e-mail features such as replied e-mail syncing etc. - no luck here. 3. Windows Mobile 6.5, and no hope for the future OS upgrade. Do they care about you or your hard earned money??? 4. Non intuitive interface - I did "IQ test" experiment on quite a few of my friends - having them to find and change simple backlight settings on this phone - none succeded, it took me several hours and finally I had to google this in order to find how to change the settings. 5. The phone is getting hot once in a while without any reason, it's like with my laptop heating up when gaming or watching dvd's.

I've had my phone now since March 2010, I am still finding features to use. Its camera excellent, its usage excellent. The life of the battery should last longer, but it does depend on what you go on.
